The Velvet Underground is an upcoming documentary film directed and produced by Todd Haynes that follows the band The Velvet Underground.[2]

Production

In August 2017, Todd Haynes was hired to direct and produce a documentary film following The Velvet Underground.[3] Haynes received co-operation of the surviving members of the band including John Cale.[4][5] Interviews for the film were shot in 2018.[6]

Release

In October 2020, Apple TV+ acquired distribution rights to the film.[7]
