History
The tournament was announced in April 2018, and was scheduled to be played for the first time in March 2019. The Tour Championship is the ranking tournament with the lowest number of entries, as just the leading eight players from the one-year ranking list participate for the top prize of £150,000.[1] The first edition of the tournament was played at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, Wales, the Players Championship having moved from Llandudno to Preston in 2019.[2]
