U.S. News & World Report ranked the Eshelman School the #1 pharmacy school in the United States in 2016 and 2020.[3]
The school is named after alumnus Dr. Fred Eshelman, in part, because of his nearly $140 million donated to the school.[4]
It offers a Doctor of Pharmacy degree,[5] a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (MS) with a specialization in health system pharmacy administration[6] and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences with an emphasis in four research areas.[7]
Robert A. Blouin was dean of the school from 2003 to 2017; when he was promoted to provost in 2017, Dhiren Thakker was appointed interim dean.[8] In October 2019, Angela Kashuba was named dean, serving as the first woman dean of the school.[9]
