On August 31, 2012, WDTP was granted a U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) construction permit to move to 90.1 MHz and increase effective radiated power to 50,000 watts. When completed, the coverage area should include much of the Detroit metro area. However, if the station operates as proposed, it may cause (and receive) substantial interference with 100 kW first-adjacent CBE-FM on 89.9 across the river in Windsor, Ontario.
