Wakae-Iwata Station

Wakae-Iwata Station (若江岩田駅) is a railway station on Kintetsu Railway's Nara Line in Higashiōsaka, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.

Wakae-Iwata Station has two side platforms serving two tracks elevated (eastbound on May 30th, 2010 and westbound on September 21st, 2014). The westbound platform is connected to the temporary building with the temporary elevator and the temporary stairs till the completion of the station building, situating an escalator.

History

  • 1914 - The station opens as a Wakae station of Osaka Electric Tramway.
  • 1925 - The station is renamed to Wakae-Iwata.
  • 1941 - OET merges with Sangu Kyuko Railway and because a station of Kansai Kyuko Railway.
  • 1944 - Becomes a station of Kintetsu.
  • 2007 - Starts using PiTaPa.
  • 2010 - The platform grade separation for "down" trains (towards Kintetsu-Nara) is completed.
  • 2014 - The platform grade separation for "up" trains (towards Ōsaka Namba) is completed.
