History

The club was founded in 1985 originally at Old Quay in Howley. In the late 1980s the club purchased three pre fabricated cottages in Hull and rebuilt them at the present site to form a boathouse in 1989. The club created a Head of The Mersey race before it received a Lottery Grant. A scheme linked them to Bridgewater High School and then Lymm High School.[2]

New facilities were commissioned in 2012.[2] The club has produced multiple national champions.
