Worachit Kanitsribampen

Worachit Kanitsribampen (Thai: วรชิต กนิตศรีบำเพ็ญ, born August 24, 1997), simply known as Yim (Thai: ยิม), is a Thai professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Thai League 1 club Chonburi.[2] His goal during the Thai League Week 11 against Muangthong United is considered one of the top 5 goals of the round in an article by FOX Sports Asia.

Early career

In 2009, Worachit joined Chonburi's academy at the age of 11. In 2013, Worachit went on a two-week trial with Thai-owned English club Leicester City.[3] In 2015, Worachit went on a two-week trial with Japan club FC Tokyo.

Club career

In 2014, Worachitat at the age of 16, debuted for Chonburi's senior team in the second leg of the 2014 Thai Premier League against Samut Songkhram. In the same year Worachit was loaned to Sriracha Ban Bueng.

In 2015, Worachit was loaned to Chonburi's feeder club Phan Thong in the first leg of the season. However, he returned to Chonburi in the second leg. On August 8, Worachit scored his first goal in the Thai League 1 against Ratchaburi Mitr Phol. His following goal made him the youngest player to score him the Thai League 1, at 18 years 340 days.[4] Worachit was subbed in the next match against BEC Tero. On August 19, Worachit started his first Chonburi match against Buriram United.

On 14 December 2015, Worachit flew to Japan for a week trial with the Japanese club FC Tokyo which finished 4th place in 2015 J1 League. He participated in the senior squad and U18 training.

On 27 July 2019 Worachit scored 1st goal for Chonburi FC in match against PT Prachuap which is his 21st goals for club in his 100 apps for club.

Style of Play

Worachit is known for his technical in flair. He usually plays in the Trequartista position behind the strikers and provides them the assists. He also usually pushes up and find the goals with his great finishing.

International career

In 2015, Worachit was named Thailand U19 captain for the 2015 AFF U-19 Youth Championship in Laos. He led the team to the semi-finals by winning every single match in the group stage and collected three goals for himself. Worachit scored a goal in a 5-0 win against Malaysia in the semi-finals and qualified for the final match against Vietnam. On September 4, 2015, Worachit scored a couple goals in the final match, during which Thailand demolished Vietnam 6-0. Thailand was crowned as a Champion and Worachit recognized as a top scorer with 6 goals.

At the age of 18, Worachit was later promoted to the Thailand U23 team for 2016 AFC U-23 Championship preparation. He scored for Thailand U-23 in his debut match versus Suphanburi. He was in the squad of Thailand for 2016 AFC U-23 Championship at Qatar. Worachit came off the bench in two matches of the group stage against Saudi Arabia and North Korea.

In August 2017, He won the Football at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games with Thailand U23.
