Abdul Khaliq Hazara (politician)

Abdul Khaliq Hazara (Hazaragi: عبدالخالق هزاره) is an ethnic Hazara politician in Hazara Town, Balochistan, Pakistan. He has been the Chairman of Hazara Democratic Party (HDP)[1] since November 2010, and is a member of the Quetta city council.

In early, following targeted assassinations of hundreds of Hazaras in Quetta by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, he called a worldwide protest of Hazaras. The Hazaras all over the world responded to his call and arranged demonstrations in front of Parliaments, UN offices, and Pakistan Embassies all over Europe, America, Australia and Asian countries in order to pressure the Pakistan government to stop genocide of the Hazara Nation.

Abdul Khaliq Hazara remained as councillor of Nazim and district Nazim of Quetta Balochistan. He started serving his people in 1990, working for the rights of the Hazara Nation in Quetta, where they are in minority. [2] He is elected minister in the provisional parliament of Balochistan in 2018 general election of Pakistan.

On 8 September 2018, he was inducted into the provincial Balochistan cabinet of Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan as adviser.[3]
