Agassiz (crater)

Agassiz is an impact crater on Mars, named in honor of geologist Louis Agassiz (1807–1873).[3] The name was approved in 1973 by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature (WGPSN).[1] The crater is 108.77 kilometres (67.59 mi) in diameter[2] and is located at 69.9°S 88.9°W.
