Mitchel (crater)

Mitchel is an impact crater in the Mare Australe quadrangle of Mars, located at 67.7°S latitude and 76.0°E longitude. It is 138.4 kilometers in diameter. Its name refers to Ormsby M. Mitchel, an American astronomer and major general in the American Civil War.[1]
