The song is a duet, in which both singers confess their love for each other. Unfortunately, however, it appears from the lyrics that the opportunity for a relationship has already passed. They realise, for example, that "I would've wanted you too".
The song was performed first on the night (preceding Israel's Gili & Galit with "Derekh Hamelekh"). At the close of voting, suffering from a very bad start but sweeping up votes from the later half of the juries, it had received 56 points, placing 9th in a field of 22.
It was succeeded as Italian representative at the 1990 Contest by Toto Cutugno with "Insieme: 1992".
