Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 1965

Italy was represented by Bobby Solo, with the song '"Se piangi, se ridi", at the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 20 March in Naples following Gigliola Cinquetti's victory for Italy the previous year. Broadcaster RAI chose the winning song and performer from the 1965 Sanremo Music Festival as their Eurovision entry.

At Eurovision

On the night of the final Solo performed 13th in the running order, following Portugal and preceding Denmark. Each national jury awarded 5-3-1 to its top three songs, and at the close of the voting "Se piangi,se ridi" had received 15 points (3s from Belgium, France, Monaco and the Netherlands, and 1s from Germany, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom), placing Italy 5th of the 18 entries, a third consecutive top 5 finish. The Italian jury awarded its 5 points to Ireland.[1]
