The history of Devi brahmani :-

It is told that once God Brahma was in meditation for the creation of world, his body was divided in two parts . that reincarnated into gods & goddesses one part was male and another one was female. Thus female parts became goddesses like gayatri , Sati Savitri , Saraswati and other more.. !

But there is one more Folklore about devi brahmani that once she was reincarnated as the princess of king Clan of Illavaku The king had two daughters One was called Renuka (who is reincarnation of devi Brahmani) And other daughter's name was Sahastrakala ! once at the banks of river saraswati there was residence if sage jadmagni and king held the swayamwar Of their princesses and Renuka married sage jadmagni. There were clashes between kshatriya clan and Bhargava clan as sage jadmagni was bhargav vanshi they shifted their residence in West of bhart varsh (india) But once for one Celebration of Renuka's sister's wedding she invited all the Kshatriya's in west for the celebration Sage jadmagni was not agreeing but Renuka was stubborn and she held her words and Jadmagni agreed . They were poor but Sage had Kamdhenu Gaay ( Miraculous Cow) and akshat patra pot if rice they gave so grand celebration that even Royalties (Kshatriyas)them selves were shamed and held grudge and insulted sage jadmagni thus all the Reason for insulations of jadmagni was Renuka her self . Sage and Renuka had a son named parshurama Sage told that if you love your father , Take your mother's head from her torso and he also said that she will be called as Brahmani in heavens and she shall be worshipped Thus parshurama killed her mother and whole Kshatriya vansh 1 time from earth . This is the end .

She is an aspect of Adi Shakti, possessing the "Rajas Guna" and therefore is the source of Brahma's power.
