Brooke Boney

Brooke Boney (born 1987) is an Australian journalist.[1]

Boney is currently an entertainment reporter on the Nine Network's breakfast program Today.

Career

Boney previously worked as a political reporter for NITV and SBS, and as a newsreader on the ABC's radio network Triple J.[1][2]

In December 2018, it was announced that Boney had been appointed as entertainment reporter on the Nine Network's breakfast program Today, to work alongside the network's long-serving entertainment editor Richard Wilkins in 2019.[3]

In January 2019, Boney expressed her opinions on Today regarding the controversial date of Australia Day.[4] Boney's views prompted mixed reactions from viewers and much commentary in the media.[5][6][7][8][9]

Personal life

Boney is a Gamilaroi woman who grew up in Muswellbrook in New South Wales' Hunter Valley region.[1][3] She became known for using the traditional Gamilaroi greeting of "Yaama" when introducing herself at the start of Triple J's news bulletins.[3][10]

Boney has five younger brothers and sisters.
