History

The college was established by Padmashri recipient Dnyandeo Yashawantrao Patil in 1984.[4] DY Patil College of Engineering and Technology started its first academic session in 1984-85 in Kolhapur. DYPCET is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering and Architecture. All the courses are offered under the departments of civil engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, production engineering, general engineering, chemical engineering and architecture.

Academics

The college awards the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in various specializations. Admission is either through Common Entrance Test (CET), management quota or by the Joint Entrance Examination (Main). Students for Architecture are admitted on the basis of entrance exams conducted by Council Of Architecture undertaken at the college campus itself.
