Plot

DCeased

In the aftermath of a battle between the Justice League and the forces of Apokolips, Darkseid retreats from Earth. Batman quickly discovers that Cyborg has been kidnapped and is being held on Apokolips. On Apokolips, Cyborg is being tortured by DeSaad, who reveals that one-half of the Anti-Life Equation exist within his cybernetic body and that Darkseid intends to merge it with the other half already in his possession. Desaad, however, informs Darkseid that Cyborg will not likely survive the merger, which would also erase the equation from existence. Darkseid promptly summons the Black Racer, who is immediately restrained and essence extracted to be used to keep Cyborg alive during the procedure. In doing so, the Anti-Life Equation becomes corrupted, manifesting itself as a techno-organic virus. Upon exposure to it, Darkseid is immediately infected and goes into a psychotic rampage, seemingly killing the Black Racer before leaping into the core of Apokolips. Desaad, unaffected by the Equation's corruption, attempts to stop its spread by sending Cyborg back to Earth. His efforts prove in vain as Darkseid unleashes the full-power of his Omega Beams from the core of Apokolips, obliterating the planet.

Upon arrival back in Metropolis on Earth, Cyborg's systems automatically come back online, allowing the virus to jump from him onto the internet. Spreading at an exponential rate via social media, the virus corrupts countless digital devices worldwide. Hundreds of millions of people are infected instantly as it transmits visually from the screens of corrupted devices, transforming infected people within seconds into a feral zombie-esque state that attacks any uninfected in sight. Cyborg watches in horror as civil society collapses in Metropolis almost immediately around him. Meanwhile, Superman is talking to Mister Miracle and Big Barda about a plan to fight Darkseid when he begins hearing the anarchy erupting across Metropolis and the planet. Quickly realizing how the infection is primarily spreading, Superman flies to his apartment where his wife Lois Lane, his son Jonathan Samuel Kent (Superboy) and his friend Damian Wayne (Robin) are watching television. Just before Superboy is about to look at his phone, Superman destroys the phone with his heat vision and the screen of the TV, instructing everyone not to look at any screens. In Gotham City, Batman is observing the chaos consuming the city through backup analog systems in his Batcave. Running calculations, the Batcomputer informs him that via its apparent digital and aggressive blood-to-blood transmission vectors, 600 million people have been infected instantly, and that it would only take the virus a few days to corrupt every device connected to the internet, infecting billions of more people. Batman immediately activates an emergency EMP upon discovering Wayne Manor is still connected to the internet. He goes searching for Alfred Pennyworth, Nightwing and Tim Drake, discovering Alfred cornered by the latter two, who are infected. Batman holds the two off in an effort to buy Alfred time to escape, getting bitten and infected in the process. [5]

Elsewhere, Aquaman is overwhelmed by a swarm of infected after boarding a derelict ship, whereas both the Joker and Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) are infected from viewing a corrupted computer and phone screen respectively. Green Lantern attacks Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) and Laurel Lance (Black Canary), both of whom he was spending time camping with. Black Canary is forced to kill Jordan whilst defending Green Arrow, unintentionally becoming Jordan's successor as his ring selects her to join the Green Lantern Corps. Meanwhile, Poison Ivy convinces Harley Quinn to break up with Joker. As Harley gives him the news, the Joker begins chasing her. Harley kills the Joker with a shotgun, but is attacked shortly thereafter by the infected Birds of Prey (Barbara Gordon, Catwoman, Huntress, and Batwoman). Back in Metropolis, Superman takes Lois, Superboy, and Robin to the roof of the Daily Planet where he upon scanning the building realizes that everyone inside is infected. At the moment, Superman hears Black Canary's cry and goes to retrieve the newly christened Green Lantern and Green Arrow. Upon returning with the two, Robin tells everyone that he finally got in contact with Batman.

Batman explains to the group that the infected are not zombies, because they are not consumed by hunger and eating anyone. Referring to them as the "Anti-Living", Batman states that they are "stealing" life and spreading death and that it is being caused by the Anti-Life Equation. He also reveals he too has been infected, and explains that the virus, as a technological/biological hybrid, spreads via blood and digital imagery. In order to save the world, he tells Superman that he must destroy every human carrier as well as the Internet. Before being infected, Batman tells Robin he is sorry and that Alfred has something for him. Before he could finish, Batman succumbs to the infection and attacks Alfred. Alfred, armed with a shotgun, apologizes to Bruce that he didn't deserved this fate before killing him. [6]

Alfred buries Batman, Nightwing, and Tim Drake. He then boards the Batplane and head towards Metropolis, destroying Anti-Living with missiles whilst en route. Meanwhile, Superman secures the Daily Planet by removing all the infected from the building and blocking the exits. He proceeds to head for Smallville asking Green Arrow and Green Lantern to take care of Robin and his family before leaving to help people. While on his way to Smallville, Superman helps Black Lightning take down an infected Clayface and instructs him and his family to rendezvous at the Daily Planet. Upon arrival at his family ranch, he greets his adopted mother Martha Kent who informs him his adopted father Jon Kent is infected. Superman seals him in the basement of the barn before taking his adopted mother to safety. Meanwhile, Mera is training Garth when they both notice the water above Atlantis is darkening suspiciously before realizing it is the blood of Atlantean guards Aquaman has infected or killed. Garth inhales some of the blood and becomes infected, joining a swarm attack of infected led by Aquaman before being pushed back by Mera's hydrokinetic abilities. Mera barely manages to escape as Atlantis falls to the Anti-Living. [7]

In a Project Cadmus lab under Washington, D.C., Amanda Waller and Captain Atom await the return of Atom, who has entered an Anti-Living corpse to find a cure, but Atom fails to appear. Amanda Waller instructs Captain Atom that he has new orders to use his powers to destroy the infected from the worst affected areas of the city. Captain Atom begins destroying infected along a street, but realizes something is wrong before doubling over in pain. It is revealed that the Atom had become infected and secretly invaded his body microscopically and is now attacking and infecting the blood cells of his heart. Meanwhile, Green Arrow and Green Canary finish setting up a broadcast warning over the radio, where Lois Lane relays to any survivors listening (including Wonder Girl, Beast Boy, Hawkgirl, Lex Luthor, and his assistant Mercy Graves) to gather in Metropolis to repulse the infected. Mera arrives in Themyscira where Hippolyta (Wonder Woman's mother) and Wonder Woman welcome her. Wonder Woman, after hearing Lois broadcast, tells Mera and her mother that she will go to Metropolis. Superman and Green Lantern go to Keystone City where they locate the Flash and Kid Flash who were instructed early on by Batman to hide in order to prevent them from getting infected.

Meanwhile, in Gotham City, Harley Quinn is about to be killed by the infected Birds of Prey before being saved by Poison Ivy. The two then depart, with Ivy promising Harley that the Green will protect them. In Metropolis, Superboy, Robin, Green Arrow, Black Lightning, and Lois are attacked by an infected Giganta. Alfred arrives to distract Giganta while Superman knocks her down with a high-speed punch. Wonder Woman attempts finish Giganta off with a strike from her sword, but Superman holds her back, saying that the infected could still be cured. Before the two could argue further, Cyborg arrives and kills the infected Giganta with a blast to the head, informing them that the Anti-Living are not alive anymore and that they need to talk.

Alfred gives Robin the suitcase, revealed to be a Batsuit, and informs him that Bruce is dead, while also saying that Damian is worthy of the mantle of Batman and that Bruce was always proud of him. Black Lightning's daughter Anissa gives both the Flash and Kid Flash contact lenses that prevent them from getting infected while looking at a screen. It is than that Cyborg informs everyone they must leave soon, elaborating further on the nature of the Anti-Living by revealing they are extensions of the Anti-Life Equation that can sense life and will actively seek out any uninfected to convert or destroy. At that moment, Hawkgirl arrives falling from the sky heavily injured, and explains that Captain Atom is about to explode in Washington, D.C. Both Superman and Wonder Woman quickly fly to him, where they find a rapidly destabilizing Captain Atom above the U.S. Capitol. The two grab him and attempt to haul him into the upper atmosphere for him to safely explode. However, before they could get high enough, Captain Atom detonates in a titanic explosion that consumes both Superman and Wonder Woman and instantly vaporizes Washington, D.C. The cataclysm quickly expands outward, obliterating several major cities such as Baltimore before finally reaching Metropolis. As the Daily Planet survivors look on in horror, Black Lightning holds his daughters close and attempts to calm them as the light of the blast wave seemingly consumes them all. [8]

Superman and Wonder Woman both survive the explosion, and realize that Baltimore, Washington, Metropolis and countless other cities have been destroyed. Superman and Wonder Woman go check on the survivors, and it is revealed that Green Lantern saved the group and the top part of the Daily Planet in a green energy shield bubble. Lex Luthor than arrives and deeply saddened by the destruction of Metropolis, offers to join forces with Superman. Over the next several days and weeks the Flash, Kid Flash, Wonder Woman, Superboy and Superman help disable the internet by destroying major servers, severing undersea cables, and destroying digital communication satellites to completely stop the Equation's digital spread. Wonder Woman convinces her mother to allow survivors on Themyscira, and she, Superman, and Mera use their powers to lift sections of the sea floor to expand Paradise Island to provide more room for the incoming survivors. In one week, Gotham has become a jungle and Batman (Damian Wayne), Green Arrow, and Green Lantern appear outside of the wall of vines. Just as they are about to enter, an infected Killer Croc charges towards the trio, but he is killed by the vines and they soon surround the heroes. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy then emerge from the thicket and ask why Robin is dressed as Batman. He explains that Batman has died and they give their condolences. The trio state that they are hoping to set up a sanctuary for survivors in the Gotham jungle. Ivy states that she and Harley have been arguing about it but Ivy reluctantly agrees to set up a safe haven with strict rules in place.

As the weeks progress, the surviving heroes are able to disable the Internet all around the world and they set up safe havens in Gotham, Themyscira, and the Fortress of Solitude. Luthor and Cyborg work together to build two arks to fit up to seven million survivors each in case they ever need to leave Earth, but Superman insists that they cannot abandon the planet. As the days pass, the heroes in the Fortress begin to hear a ringing in their ears that grows into a scream before Luthor is suddenly bisected by an invisible force. The Flash runs in to see what happened and he is slashed in the back by an infected Martian Manhunter. The heroes fight him until Firestorm kills him with a fire blast. The survivors of the attack realize that Barry is infected and he is out loose in the world, infecting and killing thousands of people worldwide at hypersonic speeds. Kid Flash volunteers to search and stop him, but Superman declares he will go in his place. He flies into space and after confirming with Cyborg that the Flash is dead, rams into the Flash head on, the impact obliterating his body in the process. Unfortunately, to Superman's horror, he soon finds that two of Barry's fingers are lodged in his abdomen and he flies straight to the Fortress. He tells Kid Flash that Barry is dead and he will soon follow as he shows Wally his wound. He tells Wally to send his son, Lois, and Martha into the Speed Force so that he may speak with them. Superman gives a tearful and emotional farewell to his family and flies into space to deprive himself of oxygen before he turns, but before he could die his transformation begins. [9]

Superman succumbs to the infection and begins his attack against New York. Cyborg declares that if Superman has been infected than they must evacuate the planet immediately, but Lois makes note that Superman will destroy the arks instantly and must be stopped first. Batman (Damian Wayne) explains that his father had a contingency plan for every superhero of the Justice League if they turn evil except Green Arrow, much to his chagrin. He reveals from his utility belt that he possesses a shard of Kryptonite, which he gives Cyborg to use in turning it into a suppressing gas which will slow Superman down. Wonder Woman states that it will not be enough against Superman now and that they must use lethal force against him. Wonder Woman reveals that she and her mother had also prepared a contingency against Superman and tells Green Lantern and Cyborg to come with her while ordering everyone else to go to the Gotham Jungle and Themyscira to begin preparations for departure. In Superman's forge within the Fortress of Solitude, Wonder Women imbues the kryptonite shard with her magic-infused Sword of Athena, forging a weapon that combines Superman's two principle weaknesses, magic and kryptonite, into one. The trio than head out to confront the fallen Man of Steel. Meanwhile, Kid Flash and Damian complete the evacuation of the survivors from the Goatham Jungle, but before they leave, Poison Ivy declares she is not leaving as she cannot abandon the Green. Harley decides to stay as well citing that she cannot abandon Ivy and the two watch as the ark departs Gotham.

Green Arrow and Wonder Girl lead the evacuation of survivors in Themyscira when they are attacked by the Kraken led by an infected Aquaman. Green Arrow quickly dispatches him by shooting an arrow through Aquaman's eye. Nonetheless, an army of infected Atlanteans lay siege to the island, and the whole Amazonian army led by Wonder Girl and Antiope lead a counterattack to repulse them. The Amazons hold the line as the last refugees board. Antiope is infected during the fight, and Queen Hippolyta ultimately elects to stay behind along with the remaining Amazons to cover the ark's escape, giving Wonder Girl her tiara. Meanwhile, in the ruins of New York City, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Green Lantern begin their attack against Superman. Both Green Lantern and Cyborg weaken Superman enough to allow Wonder Woman to close in, cutting off Superman's right arm before stabbing him in the chest. The attack fails to stop Superman, however, who proceeds to deliver a lethal punch through Wonder Woman's abdomen, and spotting the fleeing arks, abandons the fight to attack the survivors. A dying Wonder Woman tells Green Lantern and Cyborg that Superman must be stopped and hands Lantern the kryptonite sword. Cyborg elects to stay behind with Wonder Woman until she turns, telling Green Lantern he never intended to leave with the survivors over guilt of the virus starting with him.

On one of the arks, Superboy confirms that Superman is indeed coming after them, and declares to Batman that he will confront him. He asks for Batman to take care of his mother before departing at full-speed towards his father, colliding with him in order to buy the arks time to escape. The impact knocks Superboy out and breaks his arm, while Superman remains stunned, just as Green Lantern arrives on the scene. Before Superman can attack either of them, the entire Green Lantern Corps, including Guy Gardner, Kilowog, and Ganthet, arrive to help. Having become aware of the Anti-Life pandemic on Earth, Ganthet explains the Guardians decided to quarantine the planet. Realizing that the Green Lantern Corps is too powerful to take on alone, the infected Superman retreats into the Sun and begins absorbing it. Halting their chase after him, Ganthet states the Green Lantern Corps does not have the power to reach into the Sun's core to stop Superman directly. He realizes that in time, Superman will completely absorb the Sun and the Sol System will gradually grow cold, dooming all life remaining in the system. However, he states to Green Lantern that the virus will likely go dormant after such an event occurs. Declaring that there is nothing more they can do and not wanting to risk further exposure, Ganthet and the Green Lantern Corps decide to escort the survivors to a new world and star system to settle on.

On Earth, a now infected Wonder Woman has been restrained by Cyborg with the Lasso of Truth. He proceeds to interrogate the Anti-Life Equation through the former Amazon princess on if there is a cure for the infected. The Equation responds through her that there is indeed a cure and that it lies within him, revealing the virus is sentient and controls it victims as a hive mind. It explains to Cyborg that being both man and machine, he is the solution to the crisis as it too is a binary construct. Horrified at the revelation that the pandemic was entirely curable and that all the deaths and sacrifices were ultimately unnecessary, Cyborg carelessly lets go of the Lasso of Truth to try and inform the fleeing arks of this. Before he can act on it, however, a now freed Wonder Woman takes the opportunity to attack him, tearing his head off and tossing it and his body into a ravine, with the Anti-Life equation musing through her that life is fleeting, but that death is forever. As the arks arrive at their new home, Earth 2, Lois, Jon, Damian and the rest of the survivors gaze upon their new homeworld, hopeful that the horrors they experienced on Earth are now behind them. [10]

A Good Day to Die

Mister Miracle and Big Barda survey the destruction of Apokolips before Boom Tubing back to earth. Meanwhile Mister Terrific examines an infected Captain Boomerang and realises he needs to trace the origin of the virus. He journeys to Mister Miracle's apartment for help in visiting Apokolips, only to be informed of its annihilation.

Unkillables

Deathstroke encounters infected neo-nazis during a job in Kentucky, soon becoming one of the infected after attempting to contact his client with his phone, however, a day later his healing factor purges the equation from his system and returns him to normal. Deathstroke's daughter Rose Wilson is trapped in her apartment, unwilling to leave as all her visions of her trying end in her death. Deathstroke tells her to go on the roof but is attacked by an infected Man-Bat and crashes. Rose stabs him, but Deathstroke yells in pain which makes Rose realize Deathstroke is not one of the infected. Shortly after, Mirror Master contacts them, asking in exchange for Slade and Rose protecting Vandal Savage from the Anti-Living, he will bring them to his hideout. The duo agrees and Mirror Master transports them to a remote island where they are accompanied by Deadshot, Bane, Lady Shiva, Cheetah, Captain Cold, Solomon Grundy, and Creeper. Meanwhile, Jason Todd goes to the Batcave and discovers the bodies of Nightwing, Batman, and Tim Drake's bodies. He buries the three and takes Batman's dog, Ace, along with him in the Batmobile. Using a tracking computer on the Batmobile, Jason discovers of the eight members of the Bat family remaining in Gotham, only two are still alive. At the Gotham City Police Department, Cassandra Cain, Harvey Bullock, and Commissioner James Gordon are fighting off infected as they retreat into the holding cells of the building. As they retreat, Harvey is slashed by an infected and begs Gordon to kill him before having his neck broken by Cassandra. Just before they are overwhelmed, Jason arrives in the Batmobile and dispatches the attacking infected. As they leave Gotham, Jason informs Gordon of the identity of Batman, Nightwing, and Robin and tells them they are dead, as well as his daughter Barbara Gordon, the Batgirl. Jason and Cassandra also reveal their identity to Gordon, and takes him to Barbara's corpse (who was killed by Poison Ivy in DCeased, Issue 4) to give him closure. Jason takes the trio to Bludhaven where he disables the Batmobile's non-lethal mode and uses it to blow up Anti-Living surrounding an orphanage, with only the children left making a last stand. The trio agree to make a stand at the orphanage and protect the children, with Jason stating orphans need to stick together. [11]

The orphans tell them that an unknown hero placed all the infected caregivers and children in a cafeteria and locked it. This same hero provided them with ample food before disappearing. Three weeks later, Jason argues with Gordon that they must neutralize the infected sealed in the cafeteria, but Gordon retorts that they are no threat and that he will not willingly kill the infected children in there. Cassandra calls the two over to a radio, where the trio overhear Lois Lane's final broadcasting message informing any survivors that there are safe havens in Themyscira, and Poison Ivy's jungle in the Gotham are that the arks located there are departing in a few hours, imploring any survivors to make their way there to be evacuated from the planet. Both Jason and Cassandra believe they could make it to the evacuation in Gotham City, but Gordon argues that they do not have the means to safely get all the children in the orphanage there. The trio decide to not tell the children that their heroes left them. Meanwhile, Mirror Master tells Shiva that he found Cassandra Cain, and Shiva arrives in Bludhaven in an attempt to convince her daughter to join her. Cassandra responds she will only go if the children come with her. Shiva refuses and the two fight with Shiva landing a blow on Cassandra, informing her than she will take her by force; Jason tries to intervene but is knocked out by Shiva with a kick. Gordon and some of the children arrive to diffuse the fight, and Cassandra declares that this is her family now and offers Shiva to stay with them. However, Shiva refuses and leaves with Mirror Master to return to their Savage's hideout.

Upon her return, Savage berates Shiva for using Mirror Master for personal errands. Before it could escalate into a fight, Deathstroke states that Savage needs to avoid upsetting the other villains in order for the group to survive the Anti-Life pandemic. Savage apologizes for his behavior and asks Deathstroke to accompany him to a lab room. Inside, it is revealed that Creeper is strapped to a table begin vivisected by Solomon Grundy and Savage orders Grundy to knock Deathstroke out. Deathstroke wakes up, and Savage tells Deathstroke he will vivisect both Deathstroke and Creeper's organs to discover how they manage to overcome the infection in order to create a vaccine for the virus. Before anything could be done, Rose Wilson arrives and stabs Vandal Savage. As she saves both Slade and Creeper, she suddenly tells everyone to run just as an infected Wonder Woman (who was infected by Superman in DCeased, Issue 5) comes crashing through the wall of the hideout. Wonder Woman rips Vandal Savage vertically in half and is charged at by Grundy, but she repulses him by easily punching him through the wall. All the villains in the hideout open fire on Wonder Woman as Mirror Master opens a portal back to the orphanage in Bludhaven. Captain Cold stays behind to hold off Wonder Woman as Mirror Master sends Rose, Slade, Bane, Shiva, Cheetah, Grundy, Deadshot, and Creeper to the Bludhaven orphanage. Mirror Master goes back to get Captain Cold, but is bitten by an infected Cold. Slade realizes that both Mirror Master and Captain Cold are infected since they do not return in time, and the heroes and villains decide to make the orphanage their last stand.

After settling in the orphanage, Deathstroke explains that the Anti-Living can likely sense living creatures to explain how Wonder Woman found their hideout. Jason concurs with this theory as a horde of Anti-living have been gradually accumulating outside the orphanages walls. Deathstroke proposes that everyone in the orphanage, including the children must be prepared to face off the Anti-Living. Gordon opposes this plan to train children to be able to kill Anti-Living, but Bane points out the world is dark and the children cannot remain innocent in order to survive. Deathstroke tells everyone to let him and Gordon talk it out, and Deathstroke convinces James Gordon to let begin teaching the kids how to fight after revealing he lost his sons due to the Anti-Life pandemic. Gordon acquiesces to the villains remaining at the orphanage and to the training of the children as long as they do not abuse their hospitality or commit any crimes. Rose points out the infected sealed in the cafeteria, and the villains agree that the threat they pose by remaining must be eliminated. Gordon refuses at first, let alone take part, but ultimately allows Deathstroke, Jason, Rose, Deadshot, Grundy and Bane to kill the infected inside, including an infected Billy Batson.

For 3 months, Lady Shiva, Batgirl, Deadshot and the remaining villains teach the kids various skills, including hand-to-hand combat and marksmanship, while the villains slowly start to bond with the kids (Deadshot teaches a kid name Zaid how to shoot with a slingshot, Solomon Grundy plays with children, and Cheetah grows attached to a girl named Matilda). While training the kids, Deathstroke and Jason argue over the harshness of his training before imploring to Jason and Rose that the two should take advantage of finding happiness together. One night, while patrolling the orphanage, Bane gets slashed by an infected Mirror Master, while Deadshot sacrifices himself to save Zaid from being taken by him. Gordon realizes they must avoid mirrors at all cost before finding an injured Cassandra. She informs him that Bane ran right through her to the outside, where the group spots the infected Bane opening a hole in the walls surrounding the orphanage, allowing the horde of infected outside to enter. [12]

Bane and the infected charge at the group as Gordon orders everyone inside. Before Bane can pursue, Solomon Grundy arrives and rips off Bane's head and throws it at the infected. Creeper saves Solomon Grundy from a swarm of infected as the remaining kids, heroes and villains retreat deeper into the orphanage. Gordon suggest they go to Gotham City to take refuge at the sanctuary there and the group boards two armored school buses led by the Batmobile. While driving, Mirror Master attacks Slade before taking two of the children on the bus through the windows, but Cheetah kills Mirror Master before he could take Matilda. The survivors regroup and continue onward toward Gotham as Poison Ivy's garden comes into view but also discover a massive horde of Anti-Living outside of it. Before they could proceed an infected Wonder Woman slams into the Batmobile while a horde of infected swarm the heroes, anti-heroes, and villains. Cheetah, Solomon Grundy, and Creeper disemark to fight off the infected Wonder Woman to buy the group time. Meanwhile, Cassandra leads the kids that were on Deathstroke's bus to Lady Shiva's bus, but Cassandra is pulled off before she can board and is forced to fight off the infected. Lady Shiva instructs a girl named Letitia to keep on driving, while she goes out help Cassandra, but just before she can board the bus, Shiva is slashed in the back by an infected.

Lady Shiva tearfully tells Cassandra that she was the only person she admired before committing suicide by tearing out her own heart. Meanwhile, the infected Wonder Woman kills Cheetah, Creeper, and Solomon Grundy. Deathstroke tells Jason to take care of Rose, and Rose hugs Deathstroke before the two leave to board Letitia's bus as he stay behind to buy them time. Deathstroke makes a final stand, facing off waves of Anti-Living before being killed by Wonder Woman as she flies right through him. As she advances on the survivors, the fallen Amazon grabs the bus and lifts it into the air before hurling it at the ground. Before the bus hits the ground, the narrator is revealed to be Mary Batson, who yells "Shazam!" and turns into Mary Marvel preventing the bus from crashing. Mary Marvel reveals that she was the mystery hero who locked Billy Batson and the other infected away in the cafeteria, and easily takes down the infected Wonder Woman due to her anger as well as training from Lady Shiva and Cassandra over the last three months. Marvel than takes the remaining survivors into Poison Ivy's sanctuary where they are greeted by Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Doctor Fate, John Constantine, and Zatanna. Doctor Fate explains they are truly safe as the Anti-Living cannot breach the walls of the garden as it has been enchanted with magic specifically targeting them. The remaining characters finally relax, but not before erecting a statue of Solomon Grundy, Deadshot, Cheetah, Lady Shiva, Creeper, Bane, and Deathstroke as a memorial for their sacrifice. [13]
