History
The name is derived from "Dhora", as this village is surrounded by the sand dunes of the Thar Desert ("Dhora") and Aravali mountains. The town is known by the name of "Aalam nagri". Around 1974 this village was badly affected by drought, killing many animals and making food scarce. The village grew to become the biggest "Panchayat" of Barmer district.
Description
The village offers basic amenities such as electricity, water at doorstep. Bus service is available for major and metro cities. The village has government and private hospitals and clinics. Veterinary services are available, including help for camels and buffaloes. Most homes are made of hard rock brick. The village has a police station, petrol/diesel stations, banks, a government circuit house, PWD, PHED, post office, and telephone exchange.
Education
The village has approximately 15 schools and 4 college, 3 ITI college, 5 Professional Course center which are average by standards, but education in Dhorimanna is flourishing. It's gaining more importance with every day. Dhorimanna has seen quite a few civil services officers created from it, which is quite a thing looking at the literacy level of the town.
Temples
The Hindu Devta Alamji's temple is situated by a nearby mountain. Every year a ten-day fair draws people for trading animals and hanumanji's temple, swarnkar jagdmba temple, jambhoji's temple, jain temple and Mata Rani Bhatiyani Ji Mandir (Dha Babaji Dham) managed by Pungliya Family many more temples in dhorimana veer tajaji mandir
Amritadevi wildlife protection institute is located at katara, 5 km from the town
Economy
The main occupations are farming ("Jeera", "Gwar", "Ishabghol"), retail, LIC and computer education and communication. Many residents migrated to work elsewhere.

The population according to the Indian Census 2011 is around 6,513. The male population is 3,391 and female population is 3,122 But actually live people here 20,071.[1]
