Dormaa Central Municipal District

Dormaa Central Municipal District[2] is one of the twelve districts in Bono Region, Ghana.[3] Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 10 March 1989 when it was known as Dormaa District. Then, part of the district was split off to create Dormaa East District on 1 November 2007. Later, part of the district was split off to create Dormaa West District; while the remaining original part was renamed as Dormaa Central Municipal District when it upgraded to municipal district assembly status on 28 June 2012. The municipality is located in the southwest part of Bono Region and has Dormaa Ahenkro as its capital town.
