The Dynatrace Software Intelligence Platform uses a proprietary form of artificial intelligence called Davis® to discover, map, and monitor applications, microservices, container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, and IT infrastructure running in multicloud and hybrid cloud environments, and provides automated problem remediation.[4][5] The Dynatrace platform provides observability of the full solution stack, which simplifies cloud complexity and speeds organizations’ digital transformation and cloud migration.[6]

Product

The Dynatrace Software Intelligence Platform uses artificial intelligence to deliver application performance monitoring (APM), artificial intelligence for operations (AIOps), IT infrastructure monitoring, digital experience management (DEM), and digital business analytics capabilities.[7]

The Dynatrace platform consists of OneAgent for automated data collection, SmartScape for continuously updated topology mapping and visualization, PurePath for code-level distributed tracing, and Davis, a proprietary AI engine, for automatic root-cause fault-tree analysis.[8] Dynatrace provides SaaS and managed service deployment models.[9]

History

Dynatrace began on February 2, 2005 with the founding of dynaTrace Software GmbH[10] in Linz, Austria, and was part of the May 9, 2005 acquisition of Adlex, Inc. by Compuware.[11] In 2014, the private equity firm Thoma Bravo took the company private, and the Compuware APM group was renamed Dynatrace.[12][13] Dynatrace established the Digital Performance Management category in late 2014.[14]

On August 1, 2019, Dynatrace completed its initial public offering (NYSE: DT).[15]
