Equipped with smart systems, the hospital is built to be future-proof.[1] Doctors have electronic tablets and/or phones linked to the hospital systems, allowing them to get real-time updates of patients' scans and test results. This also helps them in ordering medication for patients on the go. Technology is woven into "every facet of treatment and patient experience."[4] Besides the technology aspect, the hospital design also combines nature and art with over 700 curated paintings and 15 gardens located steps away from the hospital's inpatient suites, offering patients the convenience of taking scenic walks while recuperating in the hospital.

Set up to offer a fresh approach to medical treatment, the hospital is home to various advanced medical technology and equipment. Notable treatments include the use of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to treat uterine fibroids[5] and early-stage prostate cancer,[6] Transurethral Microwave Thermotherapy (TUMT) to treat benign prostate hyperplasia, the enlargement of the prostate.

History

Farrer Park Hospital was opened on March 16, 2016 by Health Minister Gan Kim Yong.[7] Plans for the hospital were first announced in 2008.[8]

The hospital was founded, developed and managed by physicians where their collective clinical and patient-fronting experiences led to the creation of Singapore’s first patient-centric and clinically functional private healthcare facility.[9]
