History

Ford first announced plans to launch a compact pickup truck based on the fourth generation Ford Focus in January 2019,[1] simultaneously with the appearance of the first pre-production prototypes. In July 2020, a photo of the tailgate was leaked from the production plants, confirming at the same time that the truck will receive the name Ford Maverick, which has already been used many times for various models.[2]

Sale

The Maverick will be produced at the Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly in Mexico[3] alongside the Bronco Sport model for both North America and South America,[4] where it will fill the gap after the withdrawal of the Courier pickup in 2013.

The first Maverick will make its debut in Brazil in 2021,[5] with a North American premiere scheduled for a few months later.
