Haemon (mythology)
In Greek mythology, Haemon /ˈhiːmɒn/ or Haimon (Ancient Greek: Αἵμων, Haimon "bloody"; gen.: Αἵμωνος) may refer to the following personages and a creature:
- Haemon, an Arcadian prince as son of King Lycaon[1][2] either possibly by the naiad nymph Cyllene[3] or Nonacris.[4] He was credited to be the eponymous founder of the town of Haemoniae.[5]
- Haemon, son of Creon and Eurydice, fiancé of Antigone.[6]
- Haemon, son of Thoas and father of Oxylus.[7]
- Haemon, a descendant of Magnes and father of Hyperochus, father of Tenthredon, father of Prothous.[8]
- Haemon, a Pylian soldier who fought under their leader Nestor during the Trojan War.[9]
- Haemon, one of Actaeon's dogs.[10]
