Herbert Bevard
Herbert Armstrong Bevard (born February 24, 1946) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who served as the Bishop of Saint Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands from 2008 until 2020.

Biography
After converting from Presbyterianism in 1964, Bevard was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 1972. He was created monsignor in 2003. He was stationed in Philadelphia as episcopal vicar for the city's northern half.
Bishop of Saint Thomas
Bevard was appointed bishop of Saint Thomas in the Virgin Islands on July 7, 2008, by Pope Benedict XVI and was consecrated on September 3 by Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington as the Metropolitan of Saint Thomas, with the principal co-consecrators being Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of the Archdiocese of Louisville and Bishop Daniel Edward Thomas, auxiliary bishop of Philadelphia.
His resignation was accepted by Pope Francis on September 18, 2020.[1] Following the resignation of Bevard, who was reported to be in poor health, Washington D.C. Archbishop Wilton Gregory was made apostolic administrator.[2] He currently resides in Wilmington, NC following cardiac treatment. [3]
