Hillwood Airways received its Federal Aviation Administration Part 121 approval on July 24, 2017 and commenced charter service after that.

The airline began with a single Boeing 737-700C BBJ and the airline offers it for charter in configurations of 32 ultra-VIP seats, 87 VIP seats, or full freighter. It is one of the few Boeing 737 BBJ's fitted with a full-size main-deck cargo door.[1]

In 2019 the airline took delivery of a second Boeing 737-700 without BBJ equipment or a cargo door that was originally delivered to Airtran Airways. Information on the aircraft is not listed on its website but it is listed on the airline's operating certificate and is trackable using various aircraft tracking websites.[2] The airline does not offer quotes for seating arrangements for more than 90 on their website making it likely that this aircraft is also fitted in an 87-90 seat VIP arrangement.
