Holger Vitus Nødskov Rune

Holger Vitus Nødskov Rune (born 29 April 2003) is a Danish tennis player.[2] Holger was born in Copenhagen and currently resides in Charlottenlund together with his mother Aneke Rune, father Anders Nødskov, and sister Alma Nødskov Rune. He trains at the Mouratoglou Academy since 2016.[3]

Career

In 2014, he became Danish U12 champion in mixed doubles with Clara Tauson.[4] Three years later, he won the European U14 singles championship.[5] At age 15, he became the youngest Danish male singles champion by winning the 2019 indoor tournament.[6]

On October 28, 2019, he achieved a ITF juniors ranking of 1 in the world.[7] On 8 June 2019 Rune defeated Toby Alex Kodat to win the 2019 French Open boys' singles title. On 28 October 2019 he defeated Harold Mayot to win the 2019 ITF Junior Finals.

Holger received a wildcard and won a match at the Blois ATP Challenger.[8][9] At the time, he was 16 years, 1 month and 18 days old. Holger also competed in the Amersfoort Challenger in the month of July 2019 where he captured his second ATP Challenger win.[10]
