History
The Celts built an oppidum in Třísov about 200 BC and they left the place in the beginning of the 1st century being pushed out from here by migrating Germanic tribes. The walls and a gate of the Třísov oppidum have been partly preserved until today. In the 14th century the Dívčí kámen Castle (Maidenstein) was built close to here by the noble family of Rosenberg. It is a castle with features of similarity with the castle in Český Krumlov. The castle has been in ruins since the 16th century. In the 19th century started industrialization of Holubov. There was built an iron-producing factory and railway.
