Early life and high school

Owusu-Koramoah grew up in Hampton, Virginia and attended Bethel High School.[1] Owusu-Koramoah was rated a three-star recruit and initially committed to play college football at Virginia before de-committing to reopen his recruitment. He ultimately chose Notre Dame over an offer from Michigan State.[2]

College career

Owusu-Koramoah spent his freshman season on Notre Dame's scout team and did not appear in any games.[3][4] He missed most of his sophomore year after breaking his foot in practice after playing in the first two games of the season.[5][6] Owusu-Koramoah was named a starter going into his junior season and recorded 80 tackles, a team-leading 13.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks with four passes broken up, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.[7] He was named a preseason All-American by ESPN and was selected to the Butkus Award watchlist going into his senior year.[8] On December 21, 2020, he was announced as the Butkus Award winner, All ACC first team and the ACC defensive player of the year.[9]
