About the movie

The film, produced by Sandow M. M. A. Chinnappa Thevar under Devar Films, had musical score by K. V. Mahadevan.

MGR disguises as an English woman to free (deliver) the beautiful Jayalalithaa from Asogan. In this scene, the female singer, L. R. Eswari lends her voice to MGR.

MGR is splendidly dressed by the fashion designer (dressmaker) M. A. Muthu.

Regrettably, it was the movie, which performed the least in box office , among all movies of the combination with producer Devar with hero as MGR. KADHAL VAAGANAM held the poster only 56 days, at that time.

Kadhal Vaaganam was the last black & white movie of MGR-Chinnappa Devar Combination and 15th of the 16 movies Devar Films and MGR did together.

The author T. N. Balu had already written, three years previously for MGR, the story of Aasai Mugam.

Soundtrack

The music was composed by K. V. Mahadevan.
