Thaai Sollai Thattadhe
Thaai Sollai Thattadhe (transl. Don't Reject Mother's Words) is a 1961 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by M. A. Thirumugam. The film features M. G. Ramachandran and B. Saroja Devi in lead roles. The film, produced by Sandow M. M. A. Chinnappa Thevar, had a musical score by K. V. Mahadevan in which the background sound effects for fighting scenes were effectively composed. The film was released on the occasion of Diwali 1961 and was a commercial success, running for 140 days in theatres.[2]

Plot
Raju (MGR) is an honest police inspector working hard to bring down a group of thieves. While on his mission, he crosses paths with Vijaya (Saroja Devi) and they both fall in love. But things take an unfortunate turn when Raju realises the criminal he is hunting is none other than his brother Mohan (S. A. Ashokan). What happens next forms the crux of the story.

Production
Thaai Sollai Thattathe was edited and directed by M. A. Thirumugam and produced by M. M. A. Chinnappa Thevar under Thevar films.[2][3] The film's script was written by Aroor Dass and the film's cinematography was handled by C. V. Murthi.[2] The film saw Ramachandran and Thevar collaborating again after a brief misunderstanding.[4] The film's production was completed in one month.[5]
Soundtrack
The music was composed by K. V. Mahadevan.[6] The song "Kaattukulle Thiruvizha" attained popularity.[2]

Release
The film was released on 7 November 1961 and "ran for 20 weeks".[3][2] The film helped "rehabilitate MGR's image as a dutiful actor".[7]
