Koongurrukuñ

The Kungarakan (Koongurrukuñ) are an indigenous Australian people of the Northern Territory.

Country

Norman Tindale estimated their tribal lands as covering approximately 2,000 square miles (5,200 km2). These covered the inland area northeast of Mount Litchfield, around the midwaters of the Reynolds River and the headwaters of the Adelaide River. Their northeastern limits were close to Rum Jungle and Batchelor.[1] Kungarakan traditional land encompasses Adelaide River, Batchelor, Rum Jungle, Finniss River, Litchfield Park, Berry Springs including the Territory Wildlife Park.
