Overview
It is an airport infrastructure that, besides serving Terceira, is an access point to the outside of the internal air transport network of the Azores. It shares the runway and control and support structures (with the exception of the passenger terminal and the plate) with the military Lajes Field. Its runway is the most extensive among the airports of the Azores, measuring about 4,000 meters in length. Aerogare Civil das Lajes (ACL) has a capacity of 750,000 passengers / year and 360 passengers / hour after the last re-qualification works.
