"Leaders" is a song by American rapper Lil Uzi Vert, featuring vocals from Canadian rapper Nav. The song is the fourteenth and final song on Uzi's album, Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World 2, which was released on March 13, 2020.[1]

Background

This song was originally made for Canadian rapper Nav, which he contributed to the majority of the song. It was later given to Lil Uzi Vert. He played a demo of his vocals on February 13, 2020. It was produced by him, his manager Cash, and his frequent producers Money Musik and Pro Logic. The four also co-wrote the song with Lil Uzi Vert.

Critical reception

Heran Mamo of Billboard referred to the collaboration, claiming "the eclectic pair collides once again for another smooth collab".[2] Tyler Gaw of The Eastern Echo claimed that it was "a great song to end an album" and "an eery aspect to the song is they both refer to their success in their respective careers to cult leaders, hence the name".[3]

Commercial performance

The track reached number five on Apple Music following its release.[4] The track debuted at number 72 both on the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Hot 100.[5]
