Note
  1. Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

Gomez began her acting career by appearing on the children's television series Barney & Friends (2002–2004). She received wider recognition for her role as Alex Russo on the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007–2012),[2] for which she won a Gracie Award, an Imagen Award and two Teen Choice Awards. Gomez also won the Kids' Choice Award for Favorite TV Actress five times in a row (2009–2013). At the 11th ALMA Awards, she won the Year in TV Comedy – Actress award. At the 30th Young Artist Awards, she won Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries, or Special – Leading Young Actress for her role in the film Another Cinderella Story. She also won a People's Choice Award and a Kids' Choice Award for her voice acting role in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012–present).

Gomez has received many awards and nominations for her music work. In 2013, she released her debut solo album Stars Dance. The lead single "Come & Get It" won the Best Pop Video at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. At the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, she was honored with the Ultimate Choice Award. In 2015, Gomez released her second studio album, Revival. Later that year, she received the Chart-Topper Award at the Billboard Women in Music event. At the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards, she won an award for Biggest Triple Threat. At the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, she was nominated for two awards, including Top Female Artist. That same year, she won the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and was also nominated for Artist of the Year. In 2017, she was named Billboard's Woman of the Year. In 2020, Gomez was honored by The Latin Recording Academy as one of the Leading Ladies of Entertainment. In the same year, she was listed as one of 100 most influential people by Time magazine.[3]

Gomez has also received nominations and awards for other works in philanthropy and television production. In 2014, she received the Young Visionary Award at the unite4:humanity gala. In 2019, she was honored with the McLean Award for mental health advocacy. That same year, she has executed produced the Netflix docuseries Living Undocumented, which was nominated for Best Episodic Series at the IDA Documentary Awards. In 2020, Gomez received the Art Award at the 33rd Hispanic Heritage Awards for her impact on global culture through her music, movies and for mental health advocacy.
