Early life

Born in Hong Kong, Wong was raised in a single-parent household. Graduated from Cognitio College (Kowloon), Wong has an elder sister, Cathy, a former English language specialist at King's Glory Education Centre. Her mother is the owner of a cosmetics boutique in Wan Chai.[2]

Career

As a former graduate of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts,[3][4] Wong worked as a flight attendant for three years before participating in the Miss Hong Kong 2007 beauty pageant, in which she was placed among the top 5 finalists. Wong signed an artiste contract with TVB and her television debut came that same year with an uncredited appearance in the sitcom Best Selling Secrets. She graduated from TVB's acting class in 2008.

After two years of appearing in dramas as minor supporting roles, Wong gained broader public attention with her supporting role in the 2009 comedy drama, A Chip Off the Old Block. She played So Fung-lin, the bespectacled younger sister of Myolie Wu's character, So Fung-nei. Her performance was positively received by both critics and netizens.[1] Impressed with her character portrayal, producer Poon Ka-tak cast Wong to portray the timid younger sister of Flora Chan's character in the 2010 romantic comedy drama Suspects in Love. To prepare for her role, Wong studied Maggie Cheung's performance in Police Cadet '84.[1]
