The Nastola stop was built in 2005 in an effort to move the passenger traffic role of the Uusikylä to a location that would better serve the majority of the population of the municipality. As of 2010, with the reopenings of Uusikylä and Villähde, the Nastola area is home to three active railway stations.[2]
