Early years
Sewell originally attended Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah before transferring to Orem High School in Orem, Utah.[1] He played linebacker and running back in high school. During his high school career he had 224 tackles, 8.5 sacks and five interceptions as a linebacker and 2,316 yards and 40 touchdowns as a running back. As a senior in 2019, he was named the Utah Valley Football Player of the Year.[2] A five-star recruit, Sewell committed to the University of Oregon to play college football.[3][4]
College career
Sewell was a starter his true freshman year at Oregon in 2020.[5][6] He was named the Pac-12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year.[7]
Personal life
His brother, Penei Sewell, also played college football at Oregon.[8][9] Two other brothers, Nephi and Gabriel, also play college football.
