PBS HD Channel
The PBS HD Channel is a digital television network in the United States. The network was launched on March 1, 2004 for the purpose of offering high definition and widescreen content 24 hours per day, seven days per week. PBS had been experimenting with HD as far back as 1999.[1]

At the time of the network's launch, sixty-four PBS stations were reported to have chosen to broadcast the channel.
Unlike the PBS Satellite Service, PBS HD was made to complement PBS stations.
