History

The station was opened on 15 April 1928 as an intermediate stop when the track of the Kōtoku Line was extended eastwards to Hiketa from Sanuki-Tsuda. At that time the station was operated by Japanese Government Railways, later becoming Japanese National Railways (JNR). With the privatization of JNR on 1 April 1987, control of the station passed to JR Shikoku.[6][7]
