School of Open Learning

The School of Open Learning (SOL) was established as a constituent college of the University of Delhi in 1962 and is a pioneer in the field of distance education in India.It is one of the largest educational institutions in India, with around 5 lakh students. Approx more than 1.8 lakh students are enrolled every year.

SOL gives opportunity to students who are preparing for competition exams and SOL graduation degree has "same value" as of regular degree.

In recent years, SOL students increasing as compared to regular ones due to high cutoff in DU.

Overview

The school offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in the subjects of Arts/Humanities and Commerce.[1]

Most of the students take admission here due to many of them are living far from it and most of students just needed a graduation degree as they are doing preparation for Civil Services Exam and other competition exams.

The school also has a South Study Center at South Moti Bagh, New Delhi.[2] A degree of SOL has the same value as that of a regular college in Delhi University.
