Shefali Jariwala

Shefali Jariwala, (born 15 December, 1982) better known as the Kaanta Laga Girl, is an Indian actress who has appeared in several Hindi music videos, reality shows and a Kannada film.[2][3] She became noted when she appeared in a famous music video Kaanta Laga in 2002. Later, she appeared in a dance reality show Nach Baliye 5 with her boyfriend. In 2018, she played female protagonist in ALT Balaji's web series Baby Come Naa opposite Shreyas Talpade. In 2019, she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 13 as a contestant.[4]

Early life

Shefali graduated with a bachelor's degree in Information technology from Sardar Patel Institute of Technology in 2005. During her engineering studies, she got the opportunity to work in a music album and since then opted for this industry rather than the IT field. She did her schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai, India.

Personal life

Shefali Jariwala was married to musician Harmeet Singh from Meet Brothers in 2004. The couple had an ugly divorce in 2009 where Shefali had pressed some strong charges against Harmeet.[5] Later, she married to actor Parag Tyagi in 2014.[6]

Career

Shefali became famous for appearing in a song in a 2002 video album Kaanta Laga. With the instant popularity of the song she became known as The Thong Girl. After Kaanta Laga she did few other music albums. She also had a small presence in the movie Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.[7] In 2012, she was seen in the reality show Nach Baliye 5 with Parag Tyagi. She appeared as a contestant in the reality show Bigg Boss Season 13 but got eliminated later. There were rumors of replacing Saumya tandon in Bhabhiji ghar pe he serial. But, the producer has denied allegations.[8]
