EMA 2008
EMA 2008 was the 13th edition of the Slovenian national final format Evrovizijska Melodija (EMA). The competition was used by RTV Slovenija to select Slovenia's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008.
Competing entries
Artists and composers were able to submit their entries to the broadcaster until 30 November 2007. An expert committee consisting of Elza Budau, Andrej Šifrer, Vojko Sfiligoj, Samo Koler and Igor Pirkovič selected twenty artists and songs for the competition from the received submissions. The competing entries were presented over four weekly preview shows on RTVSLO between 6 January 2008 and 27 January 2008, each containing five entries. After the list was released, Skupina Zaka' pa ne and Petre Pečovnik were disqualified from the competition due to breaking competition rules. As a result of this, Brigita Šuler and Cole in predsednik participated in the national selection instead.[1]
