Spacetoon English

Spacetoon English was an English TV channel, owned by Spacetoon International that specialized in animation and children's programs and was an English version of Spacetoon Arabic. Like Spacetoon Arabic, the channel had ten planets, each with a different category of show.

History

Spacetoon English was launched on April 1, 2005 at 11:00am and was broadcast from 11:00am to 8:00pm. After developments had taken place on the channel, it transmitted from 09:00 to 21:00. The channel suddenly and temporarily stopped broadcasting on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 6:00 pm for a week, and returned to the air on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. From then on, it broadcast from 14:00 to 19:15.

On January 1, 2011, Spacetoon English “temporarily” closed down, saying to their viewers that it'll be back with a new look. However, as of 2021, Spacetoon English is still closed down.

Spacetoon Radio

On August 19, 2009, during the week Spacetoon English temporarily stopped broadcasting, a programming block known as Spacetoon Radio was launched. It broadcast from 07:00 to 00:00 and then from 07:00 to 14:00 and 19:15 to 00:00. It broadcast songs, themes of cartoons, and animated classics in Arabic. It remained until December 31, 2010, when it relaunched as an internet radio channel the next day. The radio channel closed on April 29, 2014, along with Space Power.
