It is located on Molly Morgan Drive, East Maitland near the New England Highway, on a 15.7-hectare (38.8-acre) parcel of land, and primarily serves the Maitland, Lower Hunter and the Upper Hunter regions to the west of Newcastle.
Transport
The centre is directly serviced by Hunter Valley Buses routes 145, 164, 166, 179, 180, 181, 182, 183, 184, 187 and 189.
Redevelopment
The redevelopment was announced on 4 November 2015, and was completed on 17 May 2018. The project costed $414 million.[3] There were a number of improvements to the centre, which included:
- doubling the size of the centre and including a new David Jones department
- An additional level to the centre, which brought the total gross lettable area to around 70,000m2
- New JB HI-FI Home & Harris Scarfe department stores
- A new Target Discount Department Store
- Approximately 100 new specialty stores
- A new Hoyts Cinema
- A new H&M store
The new centre incorporates a new fresh food precinct, a relocated food court and improved undercover parking facilities. A new entry plaza and outdoor restaurant precinct connects the centre with level access to Mitchell Drive.[4][5]
