Studenec lies approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) east of Třebíč, 42 km (26 mi) south-east of Jihlava, and 155 km (96 mi) south-east of Prague.
It is the seat for one of the best hen breeding, hybridizing and selling company, Dominant CZ.
