History

The company started as a Dutch arm of SBS Broadcasting but it got separated from its roots when Sanoma Media Netherlands, a Dutch subsidiary of the Finnish media conglomerate Sanoma, and Talpa Holding, of John de Mol, Jr., acquired the company from ProSiebenSat.1 Media in 2011. On 19 july 2017 Talpa Holding acquired a 67% stake from Sanoma Media Netherlands, making Talpa Holding owning 100% of SBS. [1] SBS Broadcasting was rebranded by Talpa TV on 27 November 2017.[2]
