Techiman Municipal District is one of the eleven districts in Bono East Region, Ghana.[1][2] Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1989 when it was known as Techiman District. Later, part of the district was split off on 28 June 2012 to create Techiman North District. It was later upgraded to municipal district assembly status on that same year, and renamed as Techiman Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of Bono East Region and has Techiman as its capital town.
