Plot

In Season 1, the story revolves around the lives of five young friends; Brenda, Olivia, Violeta, Renata, and Pamela, who live in the fictional Colombian town of El Carmen. As the series progresses, they become embroiled in inextricable situations due to their involvement with drug king-pin and the "capo" operating out of El Carmen, Braulio Bermudez, as well as his family and henchman.

By the end of the season finale, all five women are met with unfortunate fates. Pamela immigrates to the United States of America in a desperate attempt to escape from trouble and be with her father, a former pilot who ended up in prison after being captured by the DEA flying cocaine to the US. She ends up working as a simple housemaid but tells Brenda she is happy with the life she now lives. Olivia serves an eight-year prison sentence for having a fake wedding with Braulio after acquiring some of his property. Violeta is killed when, after Bermudez's local cartel breaks into opposing factions, they meet for a final showdown in the ongoing war between them. Renata also suffers a miserable death after Erick, a former henchman of Braulio, forces her to carry drugs to the United States in her stomach in order to repay the money she owed him. Her family is never informed of her death as no ID is present when she dies. Brenda ends up carrying Braulio's child, but after her betrayal, he is captured, extradited, and sent to a US prison so that she can never see or speak to him again.

In Season 2, the story resumes eight years after the conclusion of Season 1 where it follows the lives of Lucrecia, Brenda, Olivia, and two other women, Martha and Janeth, who once again find themselves entangled with the Colombian mafia, specifically Braulio and the notorious Raul Jiminez, who also operates as a drug lord.
