In the 2016 edition, VIC Blue won the boy's tournament by finishing on top of the pool, they were followed by NSW State in second and WA Lightning in third.[1] In the girl's tournament, VIC Blue finished top of the pool, followed by NSW State in second, and SA in third.[2]

Competition Format

The tournament is played in a round robin format, with each team facing each other once. At the conclusion of the round robin, final ranking in the pool determines final ranking overall.

Since the 2013 edition, the Under 13 Australian Championships has been run in tandem with the Australian Hockey League.

Competition Rules

The tournament has not adapted FIH rules of four 15–minute quarters, but rather plays matches in two 20–minute halves, in order to account for the expansion of 12 teams from other National Australian Championships.
