Vakeel Saab

Vakeel Saab (transl. Lawyer sir) is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language courtroom drama film directed by Venu Sriram and produced by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Creations and Bay View Projects. A remake of the Hindi film Pink (2016), it stars Pawan Kalyan, Anjali, Nivetha Thomas, Ananya Nagalla and Prakash Raj.[1] This film marks the return of Pawan Kalyan into films after a gap of three years. The film was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic,[2][3] now it is scheduled to be released theatrically on 9 April 2021.[4]

Production

Principal photography of the film commenced on 20 January 2020 in Hyderabad.[7] In February 2020, shooting of the film took place at Annapurna Studios with intense scenes being shot on Pawan Kalyan and Praksah Raj.[8] The film's production was halted for six months due to COVID-19 pandemic before being resumed in November 2020.[9] Some scenes of the film were also shot in Hyderabad Metro.[10][11]

Marketing and release

The film was scheduled to be released on 15 May 2020,[12] but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is scheduled to release theatrically on 9 April 2021.[4]
