WOHZ-CD was founded in 1989 as W50BE, but gained the call sign of WOHZ-LP in late 1995, before being upgraded to a Class A station as WOHZ-CA. The station was licensed for digital operation on February 26, 2015, assuming the call sign WOHZ-CD.
On October 8, 2020, it was announced that WOHZ-CD would be sold to Gray Television (owner of Cleveland CBS affiliate WOIO (channel 19) and CW affiliate WUAB (channel 43)) for $450,000, pending approval of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).[1]
